Dear Authors,

 

bUILT-Up South-Asia is a platform for scholars, academicians, researchers, grassroots activists, photographers, artists, poets, filmmakers, musicians and everyone who is invested in thinking through the novel ways that built-up is offering for the entire region of South Asia. We invite contributions in the form of, but not limited to, research articles, commentary, field notes, book reviews, photo essays, video clips with short captions, and poetry. Please add a short bio and a headshot of the author (s) along with your contributions. We accept and encourage authors to send contributions in all languages. If there is any theme or idea you want to explore, please write to us at builtupsouthasia@gmail.com, and we can support you in developing it further. 

 

1. Research Articles: 1200-1500 words (including endnotes, excluding list of references, and three to four images).

    

2. Commentary: 800-1000 words (including endnotes, excluding list of references, and three to four images).

    

3. Field notes: 1000-1200 words (including endnotes, excluding list of references, and three to four images).

    

4. Book Reviews: 1000-1200 words (including endnotes, excluding list of references, and three to four images).

    

5. Poems and Photo Essays: 800-1000 words (including endnotes, excluding list of references, and three to four images).

    

6. Video clips with short captions: video/audio recording of 10-12 minutes, along with a caption of 700-1000 words

 

All entries should be submitted as Word Files and follow the APA referencing style. Please use Times New Roman Font with 12 font size, and 1.5 spacing for the English language. For other languages, we can decide on preferred fonts with the authors as and when necessary. The submission sequence must include: Title, Author’s name and Bio, and Keywords. We do not accept plagiarised material; kindly refrain from submitting such work. Additionally, we have a strict policy against any form of hate speech.  

 

In the forthcoming issue, we plan to seek contributions based on themes pertaining to the discourses surrounding bUILT-Up in the South Asian region. We will also conduct an internal peer review, in which each author will read and review one of their peers' papers, in addition to the editorial reviews.

 

We draw inspiration from not being limited to academia and look forward to creating a platform to initiate dialogues about transformations in South Asia driven by the bUILT-Up phenomenon. The goal is to engage as many stakeholders as possible and create knowledge through co-production.
